Bio/Review for new Democratic candidate for Senate

Get his ideas down clearly, and write about the importance of being backed by Clinton.

Clinton's fourth fundraiser for Meek

Former President Bill Clinton -- along with Majority Leader Harry Reid and Sen. Bill Nelson -- is headlining an Oct. 13 fundraiser for Democratic Senate candidate Kendrick Meek. Not a bad lineup for a candidate trying to assert himself as the presumptive nominee as former Miami Mayor Maurice Ferre prepares to launch a challenge.

The host committee for the Washington event includes Meek's mother, former U.S. Rep. Carrie Meek, former White House Chief of Staff Thomas McLarty and heavy-hitting lobbyists Heather and Tony Podesta. Check out the inviteDownload Kendrick meek DC rsvp and a recent Washington Post story about the Podesta circle of influence here.

What's interesting about the invite is that it reinforces Meek's niche in the Democratic political establishment as he tries to run an outsider's campaign against Republican heavyweight and champion fundraiser Gov. Charlie Crist.
